About Tact
Tact is a programming language for writing efficient and safe smart contracts on TON, with its own documentation site and an MIT-licensed compiler on GitHub. Its syntax will feel familiar to anyone who has written TypeScript or Rust.
The TON docs now name Tolk as the recommended language for new contracts, but Tact remains maintained, with a compiler update as recent as June 2026, and keeps its documentation and compiler in the open on GitHub.
